The Directors acknowledge their responsibility to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Group.
As at 31st March 2010, the Directors were not aware of any material uncertainties relating to events or conditions which may cast significant doubt upon the Company’s ability to continue as a going concern. Accordingly, the Directors have prepared the financial statements of the Company on a going concern basis.
The responsibilities of the external auditors with respect to financial reporting are below:
Auditors' Responsibilities
Auditors' responsibility is to express an opinion on financial statements based on their audit and to report opinion solely to you, as a body, in accordance with Section 90 of the Companies Act of Bermuda, and for no other purpose. Auditors do not assume responsibility towards or accept liability to any other person for the contents of this report. Auditors conducted audit in accordance with Hong Kong Standards on Auditing issued by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Those standards require that auditors comply with ethical requirements and plan and perform the audit to obtain reasonable assurance as to whether the financial statements are free from material misstatement.
An audit involves performing procedures to obtain audit evidence about the amounts and disclosures in the financial statements. The procedures selected depend on the auditors’ judgment, including the assessment of the risks of material misstatement of the financial statements, whether due to fraud or error. In making those risk assessments, the auditors consider internal control relevant to the entity’s preparation and true and fair presentation of the financial statements in order to design audit procedures that are appropriate in the circumstances, but not for the purpose of expressing an opinion on the effectiveness of the entity’s internal control. An audit also includes evaluating the appropriateness of accounting policies used and the reasonableness of accounting estimates made by the directors, as well as evaluating the overall presentation of the financial statements.
