Jan - With our extensive sales network in China and Asian market, Mobicon signed the Asian distributorship with Unisonic Technologies Co., Ltd (UTC). Its main products are high-tech semiconductor devices and IC design.

Apr - Mobicon – Remote Singapore signed the agentship agreement with Atmel that covered ASEAN area. At the same time, we set up office in Thailand and Philippine.
July - Mobicon Holdings Limited signed the agentship agreement with Diodes, a famous brand in America.
Aug - Started the sales operation in Shanghai. The Group service was extended to the countries in East of China. At the same month, Arkia Advance Limited signed the distributorship with Nichicon.
Oct - Mobicon Holdings Limited acquired the asset of Maxfair Technology Limited in Hong Kong, that allowed an increase in brands and experienced managements in Computer Business. In the mean time, Maxfair Distribution Limited was established, and retail shop, i-Style, was set up in Mong Kok, Sham Shui Po and Wan Chai. In the same month, battery business of Shing Shun Trading Company was transferred to APower Holdings Limited. It strengthened APower battery business and allowed APower to become the channel partner of CLIPSAL, ENERGIZER, EVEREADY, DURACELL, GP, GS YUASA, MAXELL, PANASONIC, SANYO, SONY, UNIROSS, etc.

March - Mobicon set up an operation office at Taipei, Taiwan, Mobicon Taiwan Limited was established.
Due to the rapid growth, the size of office and warehouse of Mobicon Headquarter in San Po Kong has been expanded to 80,000 sqft. The total number of worldwide staffs reached 455 and the turnover was HK$1.09 billion.

August - Arkia Advanced Limited specializing in Telecom Market, Milliard Devices Limited specializing in distribution of Critical component and Create Tech Software Systems Limited specializing in software development were established.
October - DV Power Limited, specializing in serving components for Power Supply industry and PC Master Limited specializing in Computer Retail Market were established. At the same month, Mobicon established joint-venture with Remote Electronic Marketing Sdn Bhd and Remote Electronic Components Sdn Bhd in Malaysia and formed Mobicon-Remote Electronic Sdn Bhd.
At the same year, Mobicon merged Mantech (South Africa) into our group and the turnover of the Group for the year ended 2001 was HK$461millions.
